It's official. School is out. My classroom is locked. I slept in this morning... it's finally summer!
All of that means that I finally had time (and energy) to pick up my book again today. I got a little reading done (maybe 60 pages or so) and really enjoyed it. I'll have to make more time for it now that I'm not exhausted from teaching or busy writing lesson plans!
Today, I'm reading The Magician, which is the second book in the Nicholas Flamel series. It's action packed and very entertaining. It's also easy to read and you don't have to have any special knowledge to understand the characters (although some basic mythology would probably make it a little more interesting, but that's not my strong suit).
So, is anyone else reading?

Book One - Finished
I just finished The Alchemist. It was actually pretty good. I will definitely have to grab the others and see what happens next. The ending of this one was almost a cliffhanger.
Pages: 369 (I didn't read any of the extra stuff in the back)
Rating: ***1/2?

How's it going so far?
What I'm Reading Now: The Alchemist: The Secret of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel by Michael Scott
What I Think So Far: It's surprisingly interesting and easy to read. The book cover and the way the book started are incongruous and I was expecting something different. But now that I'm in a few chapters, it's pretty captivating.
What It's About: A set of twins, Josh and Sophie, unwittingly stumble into a crazy world of myth and magic. Working their part-time jobs to save for their new car, the twins witness a strange battle between the couple they know as Penny and Nick Fleming and some creatures that simply can't be human. But that's only the beginning of the weirdness. To stay alive, the pair must join Nick (Nicholas Flamel) in a quest to save Penny (Pernelle) and the world.
How Many Pages I've Read: 124
